Can I use the Flamtastique XS outdoors?
You can place this little lamp anywhere you like, except outside in the rain. You fill it with kerosene lamp oil or paraffin-based lamp oil (odorless).
How to use my Flamtastique XS
Flamtastique XS burns on lamp oil. The transparent part of the base allows you to see how much oil is left in it. You can turn the ear to make the wick rise less or more. Ordinary lamp oil goes in.
Help! The wick of my Flamtastique XS is stuck!
If the wick gets stuck during adjustment, do not turn the knob! The Flamtastique XS is a delicate product and forcing the knob may damage the parts inside. Make sure the wick is centred at the top and bottom of the mechanism and is not twisted or crooked. You can do this by pulling the wick straight at the top and bottom. Make sure the Flamtastique XS is switched off and cooled down, and don't forget to wash your hands afterwards.
My wick of the Flamtastique XS burns up quickly
In order to enjoy your Flamtastique XS optimally, it is very important to let the wick soak in the oil for 15 minutes before lighting. If the wick is saturated with oil, your Flamtastique XS will burn for many, many hours! Also fill the reservoir well to max level. Then you will also get a higher flame.
How do I clean the Flamtastique XS?
Clean regularly with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and neutral soap. Do not use chemicals, steel-wool or scrubbing sponges to clean the Flamtastique XS. Do not remove the silicone cover from the glass oil tank! If anything has spilled on the silicone part, we recommend unscrewing the ‘burner pot’ (coloured aluminium part with the wick) from the glass tank and rinsing the ‘glass oil tank + silicone cover’ assembly under the tap for a while. Dry with a cloth.
